On 3-16 January 2010 a luncheon was held at the US-NZ Council for New Zealand members of the American Council of Young Political Leaders. The Council is a bipartisan non-profit organisation that manages unique international exchange activities for young political leaders worldwide.  

The members included:

• Haimona Gardiner, Private Secretary, Hon Tariana Turia, MP for Te Tai Hauarau Maori Party 
• Aaron Gilmore, Member of Parliament for National Party
• Gareth Hughes, Member of Parliament for the Green Party 
• Carmel Sepuloni, Member of New Zealand Parliament for Labour Party 
• Louise Upston, Member, New Zealand Parliament, National Party
• Beryl Bright, Senior Private Secretary for Hon Dr Lockwood Smith, Speaker of the House.
