PRESS RELEASE, November 16, 2004 Council President to Visit New Zealand US-NZ Council President John Mullen will
travel to New Zealand on Friday, November 26, 2004 for a week of meetings with
NZ government officials and business executives. The visit will include stops in
Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch The NZ government is coordinating the official program in
conjunction with Ellen Gordon, the Chief Executive of the NZ – US Council in
Auckland, where Ms. Gordon will accompany Mr. Mullen on a program of private
sector calls. In Wellington, Mr. Mullen will be calling on NZ government
Ministers and officials, including Foreign Minister, Phil Goff.
He also will meet with the Leader of the Opposition, the Opposition Trade
Spokesman, and the Chair of the Foreign Affairs Defence and Trade Parliamentary
Select Committee. Mr. Mullen will address the NZ – US Council Annual General Meeting in Auckland and will be the keynote speaker for a Business Breakfast hosted by the Wellington Regional Chamber of Commerce. He also will meet with Senator Max Baucus while in New Zealand.
